As a founder of Bensons the Juicers, I'm so excited to share the story behind our brand with you. As someone involved from the beginning, I find this to be more than just a company—it's a passion project that's grown into something I'm incredibly proud of. The Beginning: From a Simple Idea to a Juicy Revolution
It all started in 1989 when my family and I saw a gap in the market for real, fresh-pressed apple juice. Having worked in the apple industry for years, we knew that British apples were some of the best in the world. We were passionate about sharing their delicious, natural flavour with everyone. But there was a catch—most of the juice on the market then was full of concentrates, preservatives, and added sugars. We knew we could do better.
So, back home in the Cotswolds, we bought six barrels of mixed English apples from local fruit farmers and drove them up to our family farm in Northumberland. We milled and pressed the apples, then brought the juice back to the Cotswolds to pasteurise it using a hand-made pasteuriser. It was all hands-on, hard work, but the taste of that juice was worth every bit of effort.
With the first batches of juice in hand, we took a chance and decided to launch our delicious juices at the Womad Festival. To our amazement, we sold out on the very first day! The response was incredible, and that's when we realised we were onto something special. And, as they say, the rest is history.
A Juice That's All About the Good Stuff
When I think about what Bensons is all about, it's really about making pure, fresh juice packed with nutrients. Every bottle of our juice is made with 100% British apples, and we use the cold-pressing technique to ensure that all the natural flavours and goodness stay intact.
We're passionate about creating something that's both delicious and nutritious—a juice that you can feel good about drinking. Whether you're enjoying a glass on its own, mixing it into a smoothie, or using it to make a refreshing mocktail for Dry January, we want our juice to be a healthy and satisfying option.

Being part of the journey from the start has been an incredible experience. There are so many reasons I'm proud of Bensons the Juicers, but it all comes down to three core principles:
