There is something special about an early start when it is for a good cause. As the sun rises and the day begins, you can feel a real sense of togetherness. This year’s National Star Sunrise Walk brought exactly that, with walkers, families and plenty of four-legged friends coming together to support an incredible local charity.
National Star supports young people with disabilities and additional needs, helping them gain independence, build confidence and live fuller lives, making every step on the walk feel even more meaningful.
A bright and early start saw a fantastic turnout, with a real sense of community spirit from the very beginning. It was brilliant to see so many people showing their support and setting off together for such a worthwhile cause.
Keeping Everyone Refreshed
With an early start and miles ahead, keeping everyone refreshed was key. That is where Bensons Fruity Water came in.
Light, crisp and full of flavour, Fruity Water is made with real fruit and spring water, offering a gentle, refreshing way to stay hydrated. Perfect for moments like this, when you want something easy to drink as you walk.
Walkers enjoyed flavours like Apple and Apple and Blackcurrant, both bringing a subtle fruit taste that felt just right first thing in the morning. Not too much, just enough to keep you going.
It is also a simple way to get one of your five a day in early, giving everyone a small boost as the walk got underway.
Walking Further Together
Our support for community events does not stop there. We are also proud to be part of the Miles for Minds walk, organised by Westmorland Family during Mental Health Awareness Week.
Taking place on Thursday 14 May 2026, this inaugural 21-mile walk stretches from Tebay Services to Rheged, bringing together colleagues, suppliers, friends and supporters for a shared challenge with a powerful purpose.
The walk is in support of Growing Well at Tebay, a charity doing vital work in mental health. Growing Well provides a 12-month programme that supports over 100 people each year, helping individuals improve their wellbeing, build confidence and move towards full recovery. With an impressive 68% success rate, their work has a meaningful and lasting impact on the lives of those they support.
The aim of Miles for Minds is to raise £20,000 to help fund these core services, ensuring that more people can access the support they need.

Like all the events we are involved in, it is about more than just the miles. It is about showing up, supporting each other, and being part of something that truly matters.
More Than Just Juice
At Bensons, being part of the community has always mattered to us. From local charity events to wider initiatives, we believe in getting involved and supporting where we can.
Whether it is helping walkers stay refreshed with Fruity Water at sunrise, or being part of important events like Miles for Minds, it is all part of what we do. Sharing something good, in moments that matter.
