Bensons Totally Fruity Apple Pie

  • 120ml Bensons Totally Fruity Apple Juice
  • 130g white sugar
  • 65g butter
  • 6 Golden Delicious apples - peeled, cored and sliced
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 Jus-Rol Shortcrust Pastry Sheet (320g)


Step 1 

Combine the Bensons Apple Juice, 65g white sugar and butter in a large saucepan. Cook over a medium heat, stirring occasionally until the sugar has melted, Add the apples and cook until the fruit is tender, about 10 minutes. 

Step 2

Mix the remaining 65g of sugar with the cornstarch. Stir into the fruit mixture and bring to the boil. Cook the juices until they thicken (this should take a couple of minutes) then remove from the heat and leave to cool. As the fruity mixture cools, it will naturally thicken. 

Step 3

Preheat oven to 175oC. Roll out the ready-made pastry and cut around a 9inch pie tin. Roll out the remaining pastry and cut into 9 inch strips ready to decorate. 

Step 4

Pour the cooled apple filling into the pie tin and cover with the strips of pastry. Weave the strips to create a tidy looking pattern. Sprinkle a little sugar on top to create a delicious 

Step 5

Bake in the preheated over until the crust is golden brown and the filling is bubbly. This should take around 45 minutes. 

Enjoy on it's own, or serve with some delicious custard or ice-cream!
