Apple and Cinnamon Milkshake

Serves 4

Preperation time: 15 minutes


  • 600g eating apples e.g. Coxs peeled, cored and sliced
  • 60g clear honey
  • qtr tsp ground cinnamon
  • zest of half lemon
  • 75g porridge oats
  • 150g low fat natural yoghurt
  • 600ml semi-skimmed milk


  1. Place the apples, honey, cinnamon, 3 tbsp water and lemon zest in a suacepan
  2. Cover and cook for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally
  3. Allow to cool
  4. Toast the oats under a preheated grill for 2 to 3 mintues until lightly browned
  5. Place the stewed apples, oats and yoghurt in a food processor and blend until smooth
  6. Gradually blend in the milk
