Apple Day, 21st October

That’s right! Apples have their very own day!

Now we can all celebrate those delicious marvels of flavour and goodness, all wrapped up in a handy ‘take anywhere’ package, on Apple Day! October 21st to be precise. October is certainly the month for celebrating our love for the British apple, from cider making to apple-bopping, and there’s a whole host of events across the country for you to choose from to help celebrate the humble, brilliant Apple.

Originally launched in 1990 by Common Ground, Apple Day was intended to be both a celebration and a demonstration of the variety we are in danger of losing, not simply in apples, but in the richness and diversity of landscape, ecology and culture too. It has also played a part in raising awareness in the provenance and traceability of food. It’s also just a brilliant excuse to get out and about and have some fun!

Here’s our pick of apple events for you to enjoy:

National Trust, Croome – Apple Pressing Days
